Pastor Chet’s Common Cense: Psalms 103:1
Scripture Verse
Psalms 103:1 Bless the Lord, O my soul; And all that is within me, bless His holy name! (NKJV)
Psalms 103:1 Let all that I am praise the Lord; with my whole heart, I will praise his holy name. (NLT)
This verse is really telling us to let all that we are praise the LORD; with our entire heart and everything we have, we should praise His holy name. One way to praise God is to use the gifts and talents He gave us. God has made is with great gifts. He saved and cleansed us with the Holy blood of Jesus Christ, and He wants use us.
Sometimes people neglect to allow themselves to be used because they are not happy. The world tells us that we have to have huge bank accounts, movie star looks and incredible health to be happy.
Dale Carnegie one wrote, “Success is getting what you want. Happiness is wanting what you get.”
Psalms 144:15 Happy is that people, that is in such as case: yea, happy is that people, whose God is the LORD. (KJV)
Proverbs 16:20 He that handleth a matter wisely shall find good: and whoso trusteth in the LORD, happy is he. (KJV)
So whose definition of happiness do you choose- Dale Carnegie, the world, or the Bible? Once again, God made us and His desire is not for us to be unhappy with ourselves, but true happiness comes –not from ourselves – but from Him.
