Chet Cottom
I was born and raised in Oklahoma and grew up on a family farm raising cattle and sheep in a very close knit family. My faith in Jesus Christ is the highest priority and relationship in my life. My wife, DeAnn, and I have been married for 35 years and have survived children, floods, new businesses and working many years in youth ministry and other avenues trying to make a difference in people’s lives by showing them Christ in our lives.
My wife and I were called to serve at Okmulgee First Free Will Baptist Church in 2018. It is an honor and privilege to serve as the pastor at a church that some of my family helped build. I have alway had an evangelical heart and a passion to reach others with the Good News of Jesus Christ.
To this day, my family is still very important to me. We are all Oklahoma State fans and both of my kids have graduated from OSU now.
Favorite food: Chinese / Mexican if eating out. Anything off the grill or smoker if eating at home.
Favorite book: Bible, I Dare You, Dream Giver, Leaders Go First, Outliers.
Favorite movie: The Cowboys, Braveheart.
Favorite thing to do when not at office: Family time and or RZR time. When you can combine RZR and family that is the ultimate.
